The most important thing to me when caring for a child is that they feel safe and happy. I believe in guidance, positive reinforcement, redirection, and a daily routine. Activities for infants and toddlers will reflect their individual needs. They will be allowed to form and follow their own patterns of eating, sleeping, and waking periods and will be given one on one time with the provider to develop the social, emotional and physical skills appropriate to their individual stage of development. Baby sign language will also be taught and used on a daily basis to help the infants communicate basic needs and interests.
Children three years and older are encouraged to participate in a daily, structured activity period. Some examples of concepts that are covered include exploration of: the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, pre-math and pre-writing skills. I have completed eight hours of training in Handwriting Without Tears and incorporate it's concepts into our daily activity period. Social and emotional skills are emphasized on a continual basis as well as kindness and respect.
I have the experience and knowledge to help your child learn and grow and would love to have the opportunity to do so!
